The following games are good for up to 6 players:
Catan (with expansion): trade, build, and settle the island of Catan. Players control their own civilization and look to spread across a modular hex board in a competition for victory points. The original game is for 3-4 players but the expansion allows for 5-6 players. For ages 10+, this game is played in about 60 minutes. This is a staple in our house.
King of Tokyo: Play as mutant monsters, rampaging robots, or even abominable aliens battling in a fun, chaotic atmosphere. Roll the dice and choose your strategy: Will you attack your enemies? Heal your wounds? Improve your Monster? The possibilities are endless. King of Tokyo is made for 2-6 players, is recommended for ages 10 and up, and is played in about 30 minutes. We learned King of Tokyo with the Panda Kai expansion pack and can’t imagine the game without it! This is a game we teach to all of our friends!
Villainous: In this asymmetric board game, choose from 6 iconic Disney Villains – each with their own sinister objectives & goals. Villainous is played with 2-6 players, recommended for ages 10+ and has a 50 minute game time. The original game comes with 6 Disney Villainous. All expansions come with 3 Disney Villainous and can be played as stand alone games for 2-3 players: Evil Comes Prepared, Wicked To The Core, and Perfectly Wretched. If you prefer Marvel, you would enjoy Marvel Villainous which is played with 2-4 players. I’ll be honest… this one is tricky to learn. Villainous takes some patience to learn as each character plays a different game.
Throw Throw Burrito: The World’s First Dodgeball Card Game – Collect matching sets of cards faster than your opponents while simultaneously ducking, dodging and throwing squishy airborne burritos. Throw Throw Burrito is made for 2-6 players and is recommended for ages 7 and up.

Mysterium: work together as psychic investigators to solve the murder of a ghost that is now haunting the Warwick Manor. This game can be played with 2-7 players and the average playtime is 45 minutes. Recommended for ages 10+. This is a go to for us when we have 6 people for our game nights!
Bang!: The outlaws hunt the Sheriff. The Sheriff hunts the Outlaws. The Renegade plots secretly, ready to take one side or the other. Bullets fly. Who among the gunmen is a Deputy, ready to sacrifice himself for the Sheriff. And who is a merciless Outlaw, willing to kill him. Bang! is played with 4-7 players. Recommended for ages 8+ and takes about 20-40 minutes to play. We recommend purchasing Bang! The Bullet which includes the base game and three expansion packs. This is one of my husbands absolute favorite games! Anytime we have a little bit larger group, this is top of his list to play!
Just One: a cooperative party game in which you work together to discover as many mystery words as possible. Find the best clue to help your teammate. Be unique, as all identical clues will be cancelled! Just One is played with 3-7 players, is recommended for ages 8+, and can be played in 20 minutes.

Cover Your Kingdom: an absurdly competitive and hilarious game! Cover Your Kingdom is an adaptation to Grandpa Beck’s wildly popular game, Cover Your Assets. This version adds layers of new strategy and fun without much added complexity. Cover Your Kingdom can be played with 2-8 rulers, is recommended for ages 9+, and can be played in 20-30 minutes. Cranium: Players team up to cruise around the board completing activities in 4 color-coded categories: Creative Cat, Data Head, Star Performer, and Word Worm. Cranium can be played with 4+ players, is recommended for ages 16+, and can be played in about 30 minutes. I absolutely love this game! It’s one I turn back to time and time again for both small and large group game nights.
Nertz: An electric mix of Solitaire and Speed, Nertz is a fast, frenzied card game that demands lightning reflexes, supersonic strategy, and skill in spades. Nertz can be played with 1-12 players, is recommended for ages 8+, and can be played in 10+ minutes. I grew up playing “Scary Pickles” which is essentially Nertz. Whether it’s Nertz, Scary Pickles, Wackee Six, etc. they are a blast for a mid size group game night.
Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza: As soon as there is a match between a card and a spoken word, race against each other to slap your hand on the central pile of cards. The last one to do so must take them all. Be quick to be the first to get rid of all your cards. But watch out! Your mind will play tricks on you. Camel Up: In this dice rolling game, players bet on five racing camels, trying to sussout which ones will place first and second in a quick race around a pyramid. Players will laugh out loud over the results that are rolled. Players must strategize over where to place their bets. Camels don’t run neatly, however, sometimes landing on top of another one and being carried toward the finish line. Camel Up can be played with 3-8 players, is recommended for ages 8+, and the average playtime is 30-45 minutes.
Detective Club: in this social deduction party game, one player secretly writes a word in all-but-one of the other players’ notebooks. The player who does not know the word is the Conspirator this round. All players then take turns playing cards they feel best represent the word. When the word is revealed at the end of the round, each player explains why their cards make sense with the word. The player who didn’t know the word will have to quickly come up with an explanation in order to not be detected! Detective Club can be played with 4-8 players, is recommended for ages 8+, and can be played in 45 minutes.
Decrypto: teammates try to transmit secret codes without letting the opposing team intercept them. Therefore, your communication should be clear enough for your team to understand, but vague enough to confound your opponents. Salem: the hunt is on! In Salem 1692, the witch hunt is heating up. Who is friend and who is foe? Where are the witches hiding? This card game is a unique strategic and social deduction game. Salem can be played with 4-12 players, is recommended for ages 13 and older, and can be played in 20-40 minutes.
Wavelength: it’s been described “like Code Names, but weirder”. A game of deep thoughts and high fives. On a spectrum from hot to cold, your teammate gives the clue “coffee”. They’re trying to get you to guess where a target is secretly located under a blue screen. Wavelength can be played with 2-12 players, is recommended for ages 14+, and can be played in 30-45 minutes.
The following games are good for an unlimited amount of players but we think they are great for mid-size groups as well as large groups:
Trophies: a game so simple and fun that it only takes seconds to learn how to play. In the game of Trophies, the judge reads a topic and shows the group a random letter. Win a trophy card by being the first to say a word that matches the topic and letter. Trophies can be played with 2-30 players, is recommended for ages 8 and older, and can be played in 5-15 minutes.
Poetry for Neanderthals: a competitive word-guessing card game! Using Only Single Syllable Words, Give Clues To Your Team Trying To Guess Your Secret Phrase. If You Mess Up And Use A Big Word, You Get Bopped On The Head With A 2-Foot Long Inflatable Club.
